As the painters sleep...

I'm just taking this time I have now to give a little update! Not that in the normal realm of things, -so much- happens that I would have to give an update every day, but... today was a very eventful day! Mike's father and Charlie came over today and painted! The rooms look absolutely beautiful. Tomorrow Mike and Charlie are going to finish them up. Then on the 3rd the floors get done, and then I get to deeeecorate and make things beautiful!

So Mike, Charlie and I finished getting all of the stuff out of the rooms this morning. I don't want to put stuff back in the room! I'm going to end up throwing a lot more stuff out. I know it. We need nothing in there. Nothing! Furniture, DVD's, Games (the little amount we have left after my eBay spree), Computers.

My mother's friend Kate did a beautiful job making a slip cover for one of our computer chairs. She's making another one now. I am absolutely amazed. Now we won't have junky looking chairs making the room look bad. Everything is -perfect- and it will be a wonderful place to be with Mike and Madison.

The painting boys are asleep, so that means I should sleep too. They're going to wake me up at the buttcrack of dawn, and I hate being woken up early. So off to bed I go!

Cleaning Sucks too.

So today I'm preparing the room for painting. Making sure that there's no crap lying around so that the furniture can be easily moved and whatnot. Throwing more stuff out despite the fact that we've already thrown out 10+ big garbage bags full of stuff. We have too much and we gotta get rid of it all. No more knick knacks, no more stacks of books lying around. Only things we absolutely need are here now. It's nice that way since our living space is so small. I was never a big knick knack fan anyway.

Next week the floors are getting refinished. They come in and start on July 3rd. My family is on vacation this week so we get to stay in my mom's area of the house away from the fumes. After the floors are done, we decorate!! I'm very excited about that part. The finishing touches! And then just waiting.

Time to raid the cabinets for a snack. I have watermelon cut up downstairs for me to feast upon. Delicious.

Horray!

The search is over! I found a lovely video camera in our price range with all of the nifty bells and whistles that I wanted. Probably going to go pick it up next week. Also realized I gotta pick up a little CD player for her room. Just something small and tabletop to put on top of her dresser that we can play CD's on while she goes to sleep. Lauren has a few good baby CD's that we can copy. Other than that... we're all done. We need nothing else.

So this weekend, some hardcore painting is going to be going on. I'm going to help when I can in the beginning, but if the fumes get too awful then I'll skidattle out of there. I want everything to be done this weekend though so when they do the floors there's nothing left to do other than decorating. We've already got all of the items that we're putting in the rooms... blinds, curtains, bed stuffs... probably all we need are two rugs... one for our room and one for the baby's room. I can find one at Marshall's or Home Goods.

Madison is kicking around as usual. It's strange to look down and see a little bump and instantly go, "Ooh, that's a foot!" We saw the movie Knocked Up last night. Yeah. That totally made me -not- want to give birth. Can't we just schedule a time for them to peacefully remove her? Ohh well. I already went to my epidural seminar. I'm totally getting drugs.

Next week is another Doctor's appointment. I go every two weeks now since I'm getting so close to my due date. Last time we saw her was when we found out the sex at 18 weeks. I'm kinda wanting to take a look again. Maybe I'll ask next time we go. "Can we just make 100% suuuure that it's a girl?" There's been a lot of developing since then! We have so much pink... it had -better- be a girl.

Researching Sucks.

So I've been looking for a nice little camcorder for Mike and I to use when Madison gets here. I want something inexpensive, but something that won't break right after my warranty is up. I also want something good in low light conditions. And lastly, I need to either have a built in HD or DV tapes with a firewire port so I can plug it into my computer and make DVD's. Yeah. It doesn't look like the consumer can get all of those in one box. I do truly love technology with all of my heart, but seriously... these people that make this stuff need to cut down on how many different KINDS there are. Make one REALLY good one, and stick with it. I don't like sitting here wondering, "Is the extra $12.83 worth it for the other model?" Ugh. FRUSTRATING. I think I've almost got it narrowed down though. Soon enough, I'll be putting little videos of Madison on YouTube for all of my adoring fans so they can see her in action. Well, or lack of action since when they're little I don't really think they do much. Mike and I -had- a video camera. It broke in the plane on our way to Disney for our honeymoon. We have no honeymoon video.

Why my sudden lust for a video camera? The fact that we were watching "Alex: The Younger Years" last night. Alex was the one who gave the tapes the title. He was very amused at himself spitting up and pooping. I absolutely need video of Madison doing these things. Need. So my search will continue.

eBay worked out extremely well for Mike and I. Everyone... PLEASE... if you have extra crap laying around the house, sell it on eBay. I swear, people will pay a fortune for things you think are extremely dumb. AND- people pay a fortune for shipping. Now, granted, I had no idea I was overcharging so much. I made an extra $60 on shipping alone though. So, Madison will have her car seat very soon. Not that we couldn't afford it before, but the extra money is nice.

So it seems that people are liking my blog. I've gotten compliments. I might change the color again so I don't blind people with the bright pink. I like writing in it. Keeps the mind going. Anyway. Back to my research. Wish me luck.

Addon of the day #1: I bought Madison a cute little outfit to take her home in! She'sgoingtolooksoadorable.

Addon of the day #2: It's f*@&ing hot out there.

Yes Mom, we're keeping our room clean.

Geeze! Haha. Anyway!

Parenting classes are signed up for.

July 11th and 18th we're taking infant care.
July 17th we're taking breastfeeding.

I was going to sign us up for the maternity one, but it's just a tour of the maternity ward. With Mike's work schedule, I don't think he'll want to go sit there for three hours just to watch a slideshow. Well... they show you the dreaded birthing video which I think we've all seen at one point or another in our High School/College careers to scare the living daylights out of us. "Now kids, use a condom or this will be you! *Play*" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

Last minute things we need to get... Carseat (Just sold a bunch of stuff on eBay which should cover the cost!!), Video Camera (This is a -must must must- to take lots of neat videos of Madison), and... I could have sworn there was a lot more. I can't seem to think of any of it though. If that's all that's left, then I am a happy girl. And our bank account is a happy bank account. We have so many clothes/onesies that we could put clothes on eight kids. Thanks for all the donators! We're good though... no more! Haha!

Tata for now!

First entry... what's up?

So... I decided to start a blog. I was online, reading this other woman's blog about her life with the new baby. She kept it up and still writes to this day. I thought it was very touching to see someone keep up with that. I also thought it would be great since not everyone that will love little Madison will always be around little Madison. I'm pretty sure that this will help some get to know her a bit better, even if they can't always be around.

(Madison at 10 weeks! She's -much- bigger now.)

Mike and I are just waiting for the final touches to be put on our bedroom and the baby's room. Fresh paint on the walls and we need these disgusting floors made nice and shiny. After that, all we have to do is wait for her to finally make her appearance! I'm very excited, Mike's very excited. It seems that just about everyone we encounter is very excited. In the beginning, it was very... "we have time, whatever." Now I'm 34 weeks into it. 6 more weeks until she should be here, and you never know if she's going to get here a little early, or a little late.

We need to take a parenting class. This became extremely apparent today when I mentioned the baby's belly button to Mike, and how it's not going to be a cute little belly button for him to poke in the beginning. The face was priceless. "... why not?" Yes. We need to take a parenting class.

Mike's sleeping soundly because he's a hard working boy who has a long day at work tomorrow. I love him very much for working so hard to support us and for letting me take this time off before Madison is born. He's very good to us, so if you see him, be very good to him.

More to come.
