Christmas was good to us!

Alright, so this isn't a Christmas picture, but I don't have the Christmas pictures from my dad yet. (Dad, I know you read this. Put all of the pics you have of her on a CD for me? I -did- fix your CDrom drive ;) )

We got some books, clothes, toys. Typical baby things. It was a good Christmas.

Family came by. Madison wasn't too happy about being around so many people. She looked a bit nervous the entire time. Wasn't her usual smiley self.

She did have a lot of wardrobe changes on Christmas. I'll get those pictures up AS SOON AS MY DAD GIVES THEM TO ME.

New Years is coming soon. It's been a good year. Thanks everyone for making it awesome.

Twas the day before Christmas, and Madison is lookin' good!

So cute. <3

Madison loves Michael's hair for some reason...

This went on for about... ten minutes. Even after I stopped it continued. He'd pull away, and she'd cry, and then he went back and she started cracking up, playing with his hair. This was very amusing.

Tummeh Tiiiiime.

This is Madison doing some Tummy Time! We like tummy time! She holds her head up like that the entire time until her neck gets tired, and then she screams until I flip her on her back again. Now she's just lying around on her back on the bed, watching the ceiling fan.

Just incase anyone wanted to know, we had some poop today. Horray!

Well, I'm cleaning up. I found 2/3 lost binkies. One to go.

People have been asking what we want for Christmas. Just throwing out that we really don't want anything. Even if we did, we have no room to put it being that we live in two small rooms. So this holiday season, let's stick to hugs and Christmas Cheer!

Hey!

So, I found a memory card, so here is the little girl!

The day I wrote that, we had some bathroom success! So, she's getting better.

Today was a sleepy day. She did a lot of it. Gave me a chance to get the rooms clean.

Hmm.... that's about it!

Picture!!

Hey there peoples!

So... no new pictures of Madison since I don't have a memory card for my camera at the moment, so I have no way of saving pictures. But, I didn't forget about this, so here's an update. (And a picture of me when I was five years old. Wasn't I adorable? What happened?)

Madison has been having some problems with the bathroom. Pretty cranky about it, but hopefully she'll get better soon.

Mmm... she's growing. She's really great at holding her head up when she's on her tummy. I have a feeling she's also going to figure out how to roll over soon. She -hates- being held on her back. She always has to have that head up seeing what's going on. And she doesn't want you to hold her head up. She wants to hold it up herself. Funny girl.

She's got some big ears. She looks like a little elf.

I really should have picked up a new memory card on Black Friday while I was out. They were pretty cheap too. Not that they're not cheap anyway.

That's about it. :D

New Stuff!

So... Madison is doing great. Not much to say, but here's a cute picture and some adorable video for you all to see.

Also, watch brotherhood2.0 on Youtube please.

Just posting real quick!

Halloween was fun. I'm posting these pictures up real quick before I head out to lunch with Mike since I will probably get murdered if they're not posted up soon.

Tinkerbell!

(Click!) Another picture, more serious!
(Click!) Eating our Costume!

Mike and I have to re-dress up sometime. We forgot to take a picture of us in our awesome costumes.

Totally late for lunch, bye!

Ohhhowcute!

This picture is probably the most accurate picture of Madison I've ever taken. She is adooooooorable in this one. Why is her hair sticking up? I had it up in a clip yesterday, and when I took the clip out it stuck up like that. Has been like that since. It'll tame itself when I give her a bath later.

Babygirl is taking a nap now. I'm getting some stuff done around here.

Want to know what is awesome for non carpeted floors? The Swiffer Vac. I bought one, I love it. My floors are always clean now. It's easy! I like it lots.

Mike's doing well at work. Has higher-ups talking to him about promotions. I got a 12/12 on my latest paper for school which is super cool. I'll finally be getting my degree. Only took me what, five and a half years? Hah.

Madison started sleeping at night. We've got to let her cry a bit, but it doesn't take too long for her to pass out. She sleeps from 12-5 and 6-11 now, which is a good chunk of sleeping for me! Although, I don't go to bed until 2-3... I've never liked going to bed early.

Well, things to clean! Tata!

On being a nerd...

So, I was talking in my IRC chat with some fellow nerds, and we were laughing at the prospect of Madison being a future cheerleader despite her nerdy upbringing. Of course, I'll support her in whatever she wants to do, but we just thought it would be pretty funny if she turned out to be the exact opposite of Mike and I.

Speaking of nerds, I'll say it again. Brotherhood 2.0. Don't forget to be awesome.

Madison's just being as cute as always. Slowly getting back into a decent sleep schedule.

Not much else to say. This week is National Teen Read Week... but everyone should read a book. I've read one!

(Note: There will be a picture uploaded here later, for some reason when I try and upload it right now I keep getting an error. I assure you it's cute though. Click here to see it now!)

We were going to go for a drive...

Madison has been staying up until 2am for the past few nights, and I thought I'd take her for a little drive to get her to go to sleep. Well, this photo is what happened when I went down to move Mike's car out of the way so I could take the corolla.

So tomorrow we're going to Hazlet to see Mike's family. It's going to be Madison's debut! We got her a cute little dress to wear. I really wanted to put a cute little bow in her hair, but srsly... no one HAS velcro bows in stock. I have tried Target, Children's Place... well, that's all I tried. I might run to walmart in the morning to see if they have them.

Mike is sleeping. He's been good at taking shifts with me. What's gunna work? Teamwork!

My cell phone is broken. The front screen is just white, and the light is on all the time, so the battery runs out super fast. I have the insurance on it, so I'll see about getting a new one. I wouldn't mind if the battery didn't die down so quickly because of it.

Well, I'm wide awake, so I guess I'll pop in a movie or something. Trying to sleep since she has didn't get me anywhere. Garden State, here I come!

Dance Madison, Dance!

Yeah, here she is... dancing with Daddy for your viewing pleasure.

What's Maddie Doing?

Listening to The Beatles and being adorable of course. What -else- would she be doing?

So... I haven't been able to find any of my backup CD's that I made for my computer awhile ago, so... I still am very sore about what happened to my harddrive. I will have to look past this though and begin to blog again. Madison's fans can't wait forever!

If you like blogs, and you like random stuff, I highly suggest listening to Brotherhood 2.0. I think these guys are great. Enough about that though, that's not the issue at hand.

So Maddie likes The Beatles it seems. She's been kicking like mad in that bouncy seat and smiling like crazy ever since I put them on. Right now... smiling like crazy. She's adorable!

Mmm... so what's new? Nothing really. Michael's birthday was on Monday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICHAEL! We got a Nintendo Wii in celebration of his birthday. We've been looking for an excuse to buy it for about... well, since the system came out. So, thank you Mike's parents for having him on October 1st so we could have an excuse to buy a video game system. It's very appreciated!!

Other than that teeeeenie splurge, we've been saving money. Saving some for a future possible house, saving some for Disney, saving some for Maddie's college fund. Right now though, the college fund is only like, $3.85. Sorry Madison, we'll put more in there eventually.

... I don't think the Beatles are entertaining enough anymore. It looks like the waterworks might be beginning in a minute or so.

Going to The Children's Place today... I got a 25% off coupon in the mail. Little girl is going to get some cuuuute clothes. Yay!

Ooh... no waterworks, just a big poopy and now she's falling asleep. Fantastic. Well, busy busy day. Tata!

PS- She likes the beatles, but it's clearly obvious she doesn't understand the beatles. She's still laughing... at Elenor Rigby. We'll need to work on her comprehension skills.

Computer Issues

Yeah... I've had major computer and internet issues, so I haven't really remembered to update. I will soon. Promise. I don't even have a picture to hold people over. I actually LOST all of my pictures of everything. Honeymoon, wedding, Madison, everything. Yeah. I hate my computer.

Anyway- I'll post soon. Promise.

Boobies make excellent pillows.

As is demonstrated here...

Maddie thinks it's cute to sleep in one hour intervals today.

Mommy wants to sleep.

Ohh well! She's cute- and I'm glad to stay up with her.

Maddie wears big girl clothes!

So... Maddie is huge. I just spent a lot of time going through her clothes and picking out what doesn't fit on her anymore. This outfit she's wearing is all 3-6 months, and she's only 5 weeks old.

Yeah- huge girl.

Update, we love updates.

So the other day, Maddie was diagnosed with Thrush. She was up really irritated for two nights, unable to sleep at all because of it. After two days of medication, her tongue and cheeks no longer have any sign of it, and she slept last night! I'm happy she's feeling better. We still have 12 days of medication to do though. Thankfully, she puts up little fuss when I give it to her.

I get to run some errands today. I bought stuff yesterday that I changed my mind about today, and need to pick up some things I forgot about. Mike's napping, baby is napping. Going to shower- then feed her- then go run my errands. Just gotta go to target and babies r us.

Well, off to do that stuff. Baby girl is getting restless!

Monday, September 10, 2007

Hey there.

Think... think... think...

So cute, our little Einstein.

Maddie's been doing well. We've been doing well. She's so big.

Each day she becomes a little more alert, she holds her head up a bit longer. She's growing up!

Tomorrow is going to be my first time without her. I'm going with Mike to the dentist and my mother is watching her. Wednesday, I'm going to be without her again when I run to Kean to go to my classes. I'm getting weepy just thinking about it.

I should sleep while I can. Just posted really to show everyone I didn't forget about this. I just don't have much time, or that much to say.

Maddie is a poop machine, but we already knew this.

Down the shore!

And now we know where Madison gets her sleeping habits from!

So yeah- last night Princess Madison wouldn't sleep unless we were holding her or near her, so she slept in between us. I'm a light sleeper when she's in the bed with me, so I don't roll around. I rolled around all the time when I was pregnant because I was never comfortable, but now that I'm a "normal" size, I sleep like the dead. I suppose to make up for the 4 or 5 months of not being able to sleep.

The shore is nice. Angela was here yesterday and we all hung out. We went out to dinner at this cute little mexican place down the street. Maddie was very good. Slept the entire time. Today Mike and I brought her for a little walk while we went to Rite Aid to get some things. Slept again. We put a big floppy hat on her which covered her entire face. We had to keep lifting it to check to see if she was okay. She was adorable.

Here's another picture, just because it's cute. My boob is cut out of it, there was a lot more boob. She's a happy girl when she eats.

Just because.

Just posting to put this picture up that Michael took. It's adorable.

Maddie went to her first Doctor's appointment today! It went very well. She's 9 pounds, 9 ounces. She was 9.6 when she was born, so she's doing well. She is healthy and in good shape!

Her cord stump fell off, and the doctor cleaned her belly button all up for me and gave me the okay to give her a regular bath.

That's about it for now. I spent the entire day trying to wake her up to eat. She sleeps like the dead I swear. Now she's eaten a good meal and she's sleeping, so I have some me time. Going to do nerdstuff with Mike. Tata!

So far so good.

Little girl is HUNGRY!

Little girl is a POOP MACHINE.

We discovered that it's not only boys that pee upwards while their diapers are being changed. Apparently, girls can do it too, and Madison taught me this yesterday. Despite her peeing all over me while I'm changing her, it was hilarious.

Feedings are going well. She only eats around every four hours during the day, every five or six hours at night, but we weighed her and she's gaining weight and she's also pooping and peeing like crazy, so I'm not too worried. They say babies her age eat once every 2-3 hours... my nipples aren't complaining at the extra free time they're getting.

Today everyone is at work, Mike is out running errands, Madison is napping, and I have a free moment to myself. I'm liking it. No offense to anyone that comes to the house, but having a quiet day to myself is fantastic. First one I've had since this whole thing went down.

Tonight when it gets a bit cooler outside we're going to bring Madison out in the stroller and go for a little walk. This time I'm hoping that I get a bit further than just down the block and back to the house. Yesterday and today though I didn't have to take any percoset. I might have pushed myself a bit too much yesterday because today I've had some discomfort, but nothing too bad.

But yeah- going to play some games and veg out before senorita poopypants wakes up to feed again. I actually think I need to change a diaper... At least she lives up to the nickname we've so affectionately given her.

This is Madison with the hiccups!!

Everything's good so far!!

Awwe, Daddy and Maddie takin' a little nap together. Shortly after this cute scene, Maddie's fist was in Mike's eye. Should have gotten a picture of it. Freakin' adorable.

The two of them are very alike when it comes to sleeping. Both of them sleep with their arms up above their heads. Last night they were both doing it at the same time. Should have taken a picture of that too to put side by side in a comparison.

I'm supposed to be giving the little bug a bath, but I'm taking a break to eat an apple. Whenever I stood up I got dizzy for whatever reason so I took a vitamin and now I'm eating something. Don't want to pass out while she's sitting on the changing table.

But yeah... things have been going extremely well so far. Before she was born I got worried a lot that I wasn't going to be able to take care of her. Breastfeeding is going awesomely... she sleeps, she's a poop machine. The only thing I'm having trouble with is waking up for nighttime feedings. I'm awfully cranky if I'm woken up out of a dead sleep. Last night wasn't bad though since I went to bed at like... 8. When she woke up to eat I wasn't as tired.

She's got an awful habit though. Sometimes she'll eat from one side for 15 minutes and pass out. It's like, next to impossible to wake her up and I'm left in pain until she wakes her butt up to eat from the other side. I'm currently feeling that right now. Going to try and get her sleepy butt up so I can get some relief.

Until next time!

Update!!

Look at this little girl. ADORABLE.

So today I'm attempting to put the video I shot onto a DVD. It's been a project that's taken the entire day so far. It's okay though, I got plenty of sleep.

Turns out Madison likes her sleep. Last night I finished feeding her around 12:45am, and she slept right after until 6am. Then we did a 30 minute feeding, and she went right back to sleep for another 3 hours. It was definately superfantastic. 8 hours of sleep... freakin' sweet dude.

Michael is currently playing with the little girl on the bed. We took out the gymboree thing that Danielle got her out and she seems to enjoy it. She looks up at the mirror thing. Doesn't do much else, but she's not even a week old yet. Won't be doing much for awhile.

Just incase anyone wanted to know, Madison is a poop machine. She makes biiiiig stinky poopy. Mike is on diaper duty, so he gets to change them all.

Speaking of Mike changing diapers, Mike was changing a pee diaper and then got peed on. Nice.

Off to try and figure out how to get this damn video on DVD. See ya.

A New Arrival!

So... I was going to post the morning before we went to the hospital for the c-section, but I ended up having my water break at 3 in the morning instead, and had to go to the hospital earlier.

Madison Leigh is beautiful. She's perfect and everything we ever could dream of. We had a good 4 days in the hospital, and now she's home. Today is our one year wedding anniversary... bringing home the precious little girl was the best gift we could ask for.

I'd post more, but I'm very sleepy. We need to do a diaper check. She had explosive poopy earlier. Let's see what little gift she has for us next!!

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

She's coming!!

Thursday afternoon... around 2:00 I'm going in for a scheduled c-section. Little girl is upside down, so they won't deliver her naturally.

Just wanted to say that for now. I'm very sleepy... so going to nap.

Bye!

Pictures!

The crib and her dresser. The crib is pretty, the bedding is gorgeous, the mobile is ugly. Trust me though, it's very stimulating. I wouldn't be using it if every parent I've talked didn't say to get this or die.

Nintendo DS, Rocking chair, doll, diaper genie, changing table. The DS is there for when I get bored and sit in the chair to play Pokemon. The chair was the one my mother used in both mine and my sister's room when we were babies. The doll was hand made from scratch by a friend of my mother's. The diaper genie is new, and the changing table has been used with all the babies since my little cousin Holly who is now 15. (And so is the crib for that matter.)

These two pictures have been used in every baby's room in my family since my Aunt Linda was born. She is now 56. That's my 2 aunts, my mother, my sister, me, 3 cousins, 2 nephews, and now Madison.

If you all haven't gathered, my family is fond of hand-me-downs.

Here's me... waiting for her to GET OUT!

Turtle!!

The pic isn't the greatest quality, but this is the cutest stuffed animal... ever. Mike and I have this friend, Eeva, that we met in Dark Ages. She is extremely awesome and she decided to knit this little guy from scratch and send it to us from Finland. She also sent us some awesome soap, and two chocolate bars made with chili peppers that I'm afraid to try. I'm making Mike the test dummy to see if they're spicy.

Today we also got some video footage of us and the baby's room while I was showing him how to use the new video camera we got. Debating uploading it to youtube. It's kinda boring... but it does show what the rooms look like for those that will unfortunately not be visiting them. It also features me in my big belly splendor.

I've been going to bed early... around 10:30-11 or so, but then I wake up at 1-2 in the morning. I can only sleep in chunks. It's 3 now, been up since 1. I'll probably try to go back to sleep tonight though instead of staying up until 6 like I've done the past two nights. Roseanne marathons on Nick at Nite are just too good to miss!

So due date #1 passed. August 8th. Nothing. Granted, it was just a chart that told us that bit of information. Due date #2, the 10th, is determined from my sonograms. Seriously though, it's a two day difference. On Friday I go in for a non-stress test just to monitor the baby's heart rate to make sure she's alright still being in there. She's moving around and all that good stuff. Everyone seems to think that she's coming here on Saturday. I'm pushing (hah, pushing... get it?) for sooner. Although, I have gotten rather attached to the belly despite my desperate need for mobility once again. I will miss it.

Going to try that sleep thing again. Tata!

Thursday, August 2, 2007

So!

... Nothing going on! Just lots of resting. Today is cleaning/laundry day. Doctor's appointments are good. Just gotta stay in bed a lot, although I already do so little that being in bed doing little gets too boring. So I've been sitting in the chair downstairs instead. Being downstairs all the time caused me to get lazy upstairs with cleaning though so today I'm up here... cleaning up. All I did was carry the laundry downstairs and it wore me out. Then again... I did only sleep 6 hours. I don't know why I sleep so little at night. I've been having to take naps during the day. I hate it.

I like that everything is done. Other than just general upkeep, the rooms are done. All we need is a baby to put in it! Everyone is getting excited, including myself.

... Nothing much else to say. Pretty stagnant. So, bye!

Monday, July 23, 2007

She needs to get the eff out!!!

I am soooooo done with this pregnancy stuff. It was cute at first, but seriously, nine months is too long. I'm definately going to ask to be induced early or plan to take her out manually a bit early. I am so uncomfortable.

I can't go anywhere, but we weren't going to be going anywhere anyway. Thankfully, Mike pulled a few strings at work and he can spend the entire afternoon with me on Wednesday so we can go get some errands done. No one wants me driving around alone, so I've just kinda been hanging out around the house.

Soon we're putting the carseat in the car. Tomorrow I'm packing my hospital bag. It's coming up quick!

Don't really have much to say. Nothing really new going on. Probably going to be stagnant until Madison gets here.

So... until life gets interesting, see ya!

Monday, July 16, 2007

Almost done...

Getting so close to the end! I'm so ready for this baby to be out. I went on Craig's List today to look for another bassinet since I'm going to be downstairs a lot as well when I'm with my grandmother and what not. I found one right in town that the people were just trying to get rid of to clear out space. $15. The picture of it looked good, they said there was nothing wrong with it. Can't hurt.

Cleaning is just about finished. I'm one of those people that will keep stuff I know I don't need, just for the sake of keeping it. I need an outside source to come in and say, "NO YOU CAN'T HAVE THIS" and chuck it for me. My mother is very good at things like that. Seriously though, there isn't that much that needs to go. I don't really know if any of it needs to go. I just need to have somewhere to put it.

The painting is almost 100% done. I did a few doors today, and will continue to paint doors as often as possible. Mike is going to paint the baseboards on Thursday night after work. I normally would do it myself, since the painting doesn't bother me, but the being on the floor bending over like that for an extended period of time does bother me. It's hilarious watching me attempt to get up from a sitting position on the floor. I almost wiped out when I tried to get out of Lauren's new blow-up pool on the back deck yesterday.

Speaking of the blow-up pool, it is very nice to sit in, but I think next time, I need to be in the pool without the kids. I love my nephews, but I get too worried about getting trampled when they're in there with me.

Alex is very funny with me. He feels my belly all the time now waiting for Madison to move around. He also keeps telling me he's going to teach me how to take care of babies. He also likes to ask Lauren where the baby comes out.

Good stuff. Now it's time to sleep despite Madison kicking the crap out of me from all directions. It's extremely uncomfortable today. Only a few more weeks...

Wednesday, July 11, 2007

So tired...

So at Midnight last night, Mike and I went to go see the 5th Harry Potter movie. It was awesome, but we both couldn't sleep afterwards. He fell asleep at around 4 and woke up at 6, I fell asleep at 6 and woke up at 9. We headed over to the doctor's at 11:30 and everything is just fine. As of right now, she's ready to come out, she'll just let us know when. Since I'm not due until August though, it's more likely later. "If she's ready now, let's just take her out!" "Uhm, no."

Afterwards, I went shopping for things for the baby's room. I bought a lamp that I saw that matched PERFECTLY so I just had to buy it. It's a lamb and the shade is the same peachy pink as the bedroom set. I also bought these white baskets with these peachy pink liners which match perfectly... but the best part about them is, they have "Madison" embroidered on them!

Mike and I went to our parenting class today!! It was very informative. There was only one thing that I didn't really agree with, which was the non-placement of a bumper inside the crib. They said it's dangerous, but... seriously. With all of the bumpers that are sold in this world, I highly doubt they're that dangerous. I did some research on it and most mothers that actually listened to this and took the bumpers out had babies with bruises or their arms and legs got stuck between the bars in the middle of the night from sticking them out. So therefore, my pretty bumper stays, and Mike loses. He got a bit upset with me when I said I was using the bumper regardless of what the teacher said. I'll listen to what they tell me. I'll do things that will keep the baby safe, like having her sleep on her back, no blankets other than the swaddle blanket, no pillows, wedges, etc... those are standard. Bumpers though... one comes in every baby set, and people use the bumper that they just paid a buttload of money for. Almost every parent uses one. You take it out when the kid can use it as leverage to get out of the crib. I highly doubt it's a real suffocation risk. We did learn other interesting things though that I didn't know. Never use powder on a baby, don't use commercial wipes until two months, don't use baby oils, but use canola or vegetable oil. We learned how to swaddle the baby, and different ways to hold her. We saw a slideshow of certain conditions that were completely normal.

Nothing else to say right now. It's very late and Lauren and Chris will be home from their movie soon. I'll get to talk to them about the movie! Yay!

Busy busy day...

So today was the day that Mike and I moved back into our room. This morning, we woke up super early and went to Home Depot to get little felt pads to put on the bottom of all of the furniture. While we were there, we also picked up a new swiffer floor thingie and a swiffer duster. I must say, they are just as good as the commercials make them out to be. They pick up -everything-.

So we come home, start to felt the bottom of the furniture, then we start to move the furniture in. Mike carried a lot of it by himself, and I helped with the stuff that he absolutely couldn't carry by himself. The furniture is in place, and it's still early! We get the bright idea to put the crib together. Should be easy enough! ... Ohh hell no. It took like, two hours to get that bitch together. The thing about it is... it's on WHEELS so we couldn't hold it in place without the thing sliding around like mad. Mike dropped parts on his foot... he might have shed a few tears and hit the thing one too many times. In the end though, the crib was put together. Now we just need to get a mattress for it!

So the room... is beautiful. We still have stuff lying around like laundry and boxes I have to go through tomorrow. Today though... I'm done. I'm not doing one more thing for the rest of the day. Neither is Mike. Now we sit, and relax. We're both sore and cranky from the events of the day, and to think, tomorrow for both of us is going to be just as busy. He's got work and I've got a list written on a napkin of things I have to get done. One being going to Home Depot again since I forgot to grab stuff the first time while I was there.

Now, I go and rest. Mike is reading a book and I think I might just go to bed. Either that or clean the bathroom. I -say- I'm done for the day, but I keep looking in there and there's sawdust everywhere. I think I have to do that. THEN I'll go to bed.

Ooh, and one last note. Remember how I said we couldn't get the air to work? Well, the power was out in my grandmother's area of the house, so I went to check the circuit breaker. Guess what was also not on? The AC. So that entire week of sweating could have easily been avoided. Great.

Friday, July 6, 2007

What luck!!

So today Mike and I just happened to get a 10% off coupon from Circuit City, which is exactly where I was planning on buying the camcorder I want. Nice. We also have a 15% off coupon from Babies r Us... which means we get the carseat on sale too! Never thought I'd be coupon clipping. Ahh, the joys of adulthood.

This week having the house to ourselves has been nice. It makes me wish we had our own place. Of course, I miss having everyone around. I like living with my family, but... I think I could get the hang of living on my own. So next year, if we get our own place down the shore, I think I'll like it. I would love to be down the shore. I keep wanting to go now, but Mike needs to work a lot. We would have gone this weekend, but he needs to work tomorrow. Blech. Ohh well, he's making the big bucks. I just hope we have a chance go to for a weekend or two before the baby is born.

Good thing I just noticed the back door has been open all day! Mike must have left it open when he went to work or one of the workers must have gone out that door. I found Scout coming back to the house from the neighbor's yard. He was so scared. At least the cats know where we live and they come back!! I did find Tucker upstairs though, so they're both safe now. I -should- give Scout a bath though... but that will be impossible. I don't think he was out that long. I saw him walking around the house about an hour or two ago.

It's very hot and our central air turns off randomly. I don't know how to get it to go on and stay on. It said it was 79 degrees in here. I think it's time for a cold bath to keep cool.

"You know, this is the last doctor's appointment where you get to keep your pants on..."

Fun Fun! So my doctor's appointment went very well today. We didn't see Dr. Soffer, but Dr. Margulis. She is very very nice. I like her a lot. She said the baby is a good size, I didn't gain too much weight overall (despite what my mother says), and everything looks good! Got a little bloodwork done, but no biggie.

About five more weeks! Give or take a bit... exciting stuff. Next week I'm probably going to go pick up a video camera and the car seat.

Not much else to say. Mike is off for the day, so he's here. I sent him an invite to become an author on this blog, so maybe he'll start putting in some... input.

I was up late last night with some acid reflux, so I might need to go nap in a bit, so... tata!

Mike asked me to post...

So here I am, posting. Not that I really have anything to say, but he said he likes reading them.

So let's talk about people, and how people just aren't all that nice. I accidently bumped into a guy on the way to the post office today. I was carrying 5 boxes, I couldn't see in front of me. I'm 8 months pregnant and huge. It's hot out, and I still have half a block to walk to the post office. I said I'm sorry. The guy screams at me and actually kicks at me. Are people just awful or what?

Let's also talk about balance. I feel I have lost whatever little balance I had left. I fell three times today. Once down the front steps, once in the driveway, and once on the back deck. I am simply amazing. So I managed to keep balance when I touched up the paint in some places, and painted the double window. It was bothering me that it wasn't done yet. I wanted to see what it would look like. (Not anyone that helped's fault! I said to leave it and we'd do it later. I'm just impatient.) Then I cleaned out the bathroom again. The tub needed a good scrub. If you want super clean stuff, then get Limeaway. It's the absolute best. It makes my bathroom white.

So all of this was done before noon today. The rest of my day was spent resting. I watched my soap operas (watching my grandma really got me into the Bold and the Beautiful and As the World Turns... it's sick.). I sat on the couch, took a nap on the couch, made some salads... 3 to be exact. I was a fan of salad today.

The house belongs to Mike and I this week, which means we run around naked and throw booze parties. Aah, to be in college again. No. The highlight of having the house to just us this week is me having access to two washers and driers at the same time. Adulthood is fun. This just further proves that Mike and I really need to get our own place. Then I could be excited about laundry more often.

I am huge. I'm ready to get this baby out. Of course, the floors aren't done, so she'll need to wait another week or two. That's wishful thinking, of course she won't be done cooking by then. I wish she would be. It is near impossible to be comfortable no matter what I do. Although, right now there is a little bump on my tummy that is a foot, and I can press down very lightly and she'll kick back up at me, and I'm pretty sure that when she's out, that one day I'll miss the little kicking from the inside. I already told Mike though... no more for at least 5 or 6 years. I want my first in school before I take care of another. He said we should get working on another right away. Knock the kids out in one shot. No way. Now that I wrote that, my mother is going to be calling him and giving him a stern talking to. Haha. "Don't you even THINK about having another kid right now." Seriously Mike. Then we'd have to buy TWO treadmills!

Treadmills? Since I said it, now I have to explain. Mike and I were talking to my mother about how long we could possibly stay here. She said that once the baby starts to get mobile, we should get our own place so she had more room to roam around. Mike is trying to stay here as long as possible to save some money, and said that it would be cheaper to just buy a treadmill and we can let her crawl on that while she watches Sesame Street. Very funny.

For someone that didn't really have anything to say, I sure said a lot today. Bedtime.

As the painters sleep...

I'm just taking this time I have now to give a little update! Not that in the normal realm of things, -so much- happens that I would have to give an update every day, but... today was a very eventful day! Mike's father and Charlie came over today and painted! The rooms look absolutely beautiful. Tomorrow Mike and Charlie are going to finish them up. Then on the 3rd the floors get done, and then I get to deeeecorate and make things beautiful!

So Mike, Charlie and I finished getting all of the stuff out of the rooms this morning. I don't want to put stuff back in the room! I'm going to end up throwing a lot more stuff out. I know it. We need nothing in there. Nothing! Furniture, DVD's, Games (the little amount we have left after my eBay spree), Computers.

My mother's friend Kate did a beautiful job making a slip cover for one of our computer chairs. She's making another one now. I am absolutely amazed. Now we won't have junky looking chairs making the room look bad. Everything is -perfect- and it will be a wonderful place to be with Mike and Madison.

The painting boys are asleep, so that means I should sleep too. They're going to wake me up at the buttcrack of dawn, and I hate being woken up early. So off to bed I go!

Cleaning Sucks too.

So today I'm preparing the room for painting. Making sure that there's no crap lying around so that the furniture can be easily moved and whatnot. Throwing more stuff out despite the fact that we've already thrown out 10+ big garbage bags full of stuff. We have too much and we gotta get rid of it all. No more knick knacks, no more stacks of books lying around. Only things we absolutely need are here now. It's nice that way since our living space is so small. I was never a big knick knack fan anyway.

Next week the floors are getting refinished. They come in and start on July 3rd. My family is on vacation this week so we get to stay in my mom's area of the house away from the fumes. After the floors are done, we decorate!! I'm very excited about that part. The finishing touches! And then just waiting.

Time to raid the cabinets for a snack. I have watermelon cut up downstairs for me to feast upon. Delicious.

Horray!

The search is over! I found a lovely video camera in our price range with all of the nifty bells and whistles that I wanted. Probably going to go pick it up next week. Also realized I gotta pick up a little CD player for her room. Just something small and tabletop to put on top of her dresser that we can play CD's on while she goes to sleep. Lauren has a few good baby CD's that we can copy. Other than that... we're all done. We need nothing else.

So this weekend, some hardcore painting is going to be going on. I'm going to help when I can in the beginning, but if the fumes get too awful then I'll skidattle out of there. I want everything to be done this weekend though so when they do the floors there's nothing left to do other than decorating. We've already got all of the items that we're putting in the rooms... blinds, curtains, bed stuffs... probably all we need are two rugs... one for our room and one for the baby's room. I can find one at Marshall's or Home Goods.

Madison is kicking around as usual. It's strange to look down and see a little bump and instantly go, "Ooh, that's a foot!" We saw the movie Knocked Up last night. Yeah. That totally made me -not- want to give birth. Can't we just schedule a time for them to peacefully remove her? Ohh well. I already went to my epidural seminar. I'm totally getting drugs.

Next week is another Doctor's appointment. I go every two weeks now since I'm getting so close to my due date. Last time we saw her was when we found out the sex at 18 weeks. I'm kinda wanting to take a look again. Maybe I'll ask next time we go. "Can we just make 100% suuuure that it's a girl?" There's been a lot of developing since then! We have so much pink... it had -better- be a girl.

Researching Sucks.

So I've been looking for a nice little camcorder for Mike and I to use when Madison gets here. I want something inexpensive, but something that won't break right after my warranty is up. I also want something good in low light conditions. And lastly, I need to either have a built in HD or DV tapes with a firewire port so I can plug it into my computer and make DVD's. Yeah. It doesn't look like the consumer can get all of those in one box. I do truly love technology with all of my heart, but seriously... these people that make this stuff need to cut down on how many different KINDS there are. Make one REALLY good one, and stick with it. I don't like sitting here wondering, "Is the extra $12.83 worth it for the other model?" Ugh. FRUSTRATING. I think I've almost got it narrowed down though. Soon enough, I'll be putting little videos of Madison on YouTube for all of my adoring fans so they can see her in action. Well, or lack of action since when they're little I don't really think they do much. Mike and I -had- a video camera. It broke in the plane on our way to Disney for our honeymoon. We have no honeymoon video.

Why my sudden lust for a video camera? The fact that we were watching "Alex: The Younger Years" last night. Alex was the one who gave the tapes the title. He was very amused at himself spitting up and pooping. I absolutely need video of Madison doing these things. Need. So my search will continue.

eBay worked out extremely well for Mike and I. Everyone... PLEASE... if you have extra crap laying around the house, sell it on eBay. I swear, people will pay a fortune for things you think are extremely dumb. AND- people pay a fortune for shipping. Now, granted, I had no idea I was overcharging so much. I made an extra $60 on shipping alone though. So, Madison will have her car seat very soon. Not that we couldn't afford it before, but the extra money is nice.

So it seems that people are liking my blog. I've gotten compliments. I might change the color again so I don't blind people with the bright pink. I like writing in it. Keeps the mind going. Anyway. Back to my research. Wish me luck.

Addon of the day #1: I bought Madison a cute little outfit to take her home in! She'sgoingtolooksoadorable.

Addon of the day #2: It's f*@&ing hot out there.

Yes Mom, we're keeping our room clean.

Geeze! Haha. Anyway!

Parenting classes are signed up for.

July 11th and 18th we're taking infant care.
July 17th we're taking breastfeeding.

I was going to sign us up for the maternity one, but it's just a tour of the maternity ward. With Mike's work schedule, I don't think he'll want to go sit there for three hours just to watch a slideshow. Well... they show you the dreaded birthing video which I think we've all seen at one point or another in our High School/College careers to scare the living daylights out of us. "Now kids, use a condom or this will be you! *Play*" "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

Last minute things we need to get... Carseat (Just sold a bunch of stuff on eBay which should cover the cost!!), Video Camera (This is a -must must must- to take lots of neat videos of Madison), and... I could have sworn there was a lot more. I can't seem to think of any of it though. If that's all that's left, then I am a happy girl. And our bank account is a happy bank account. We have so many clothes/onesies that we could put clothes on eight kids. Thanks for all the donators! We're good though... no more! Haha!

Tata for now!

First entry... what's up?

So... I decided to start a blog. I was online, reading this other woman's blog about her life with the new baby. She kept it up and still writes to this day. I thought it was very touching to see someone keep up with that. I also thought it would be great since not everyone that will love little Madison will always be around little Madison. I'm pretty sure that this will help some get to know her a bit better, even if they can't always be around.

(Madison at 10 weeks! She's -much- bigger now.)

Mike and I are just waiting for the final touches to be put on our bedroom and the baby's room. Fresh paint on the walls and we need these disgusting floors made nice and shiny. After that, all we have to do is wait for her to finally make her appearance! I'm very excited, Mike's very excited. It seems that just about everyone we encounter is very excited. In the beginning, it was very... "we have time, whatever." Now I'm 34 weeks into it. 6 more weeks until she should be here, and you never know if she's going to get here a little early, or a little late.

We need to take a parenting class. This became extremely apparent today when I mentioned the baby's belly button to Mike, and how it's not going to be a cute little belly button for him to poke in the beginning. The face was priceless. "... why not?" Yes. We need to take a parenting class.

Mike's sleeping soundly because he's a hard working boy who has a long day at work tomorrow. I love him very much for working so hard to support us and for letting me take this time off before Madison is born. He's very good to us, so if you see him, be very good to him.

More to come.
