So today was the day that Mike and I moved back into our room. This morning, we woke up super early and went to Home Depot to get little felt pads to put on the bottom of all of the furniture. While we were there, we also picked up a new swiffer floor thingie and a swiffer duster. I must say, they are just as good as the commercials make them out to be. They pick up -everything-.
So we come home, start to felt the bottom of the furniture, then we start to move the furniture in. Mike carried a lot of it by himself, and I helped with the stuff that he absolutely couldn't carry by himself. The furniture is in place, and it's still early! We get the bright idea to put the crib together. Should be easy enough! ... Ohh hell no. It took like, two hours to get that bitch together. The thing about it is... it's on WHEELS so we couldn't hold it in place without the thing sliding around like mad. Mike dropped parts on his foot... he might have shed a few tears and hit the thing one too many times. In the end though, the crib was put together. Now we just need to get a mattress for it!
So the room... is beautiful. We still have stuff lying around like laundry and boxes I have to go through tomorrow. Today though... I'm done. I'm not doing one more thing for the rest of the day. Neither is Mike. Now we sit, and relax. We're both sore and cranky from the events of the day, and to think, tomorrow for both of us is going to be just as busy. He's got work and I've got a list written on a napkin of things I have to get done. One being going to Home Depot again since I forgot to grab stuff the first time while I was there.
Now, I go and rest. Mike is reading a book and I think I might just go to bed. Either that or clean the bathroom. I -say- I'm done for the day, but I keep looking in there and there's sawdust everywhere. I think I have to do that. THEN I'll go to bed.
Ooh, and one last note. Remember how I said we couldn't get the air to work? Well, the power was out in my grandmother's area of the house, so I went to check the circuit breaker. Guess what was also not on? The AC. So that entire week of sweating could have easily been avoided. Great.
